This course takes you from total beginner to independent diver – two of you, side by side, with the same instructor. You’ll cover theory online at your own pace, then complete confined water skills and a minimum of four open water training dives on Gozo’s best shallow sites.

Calypso has been teaching on Gozo since 1985 – the island’s longest-established dive centre.

Before you book

Diving has real medical contraindications. Asthma, heart conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, ear or sinus problems, recent surgery and pregnancy can all rule it out – sometimes permanently, sometimes just for now.

Please read the Medical Screening Statement before you pay. If any of the listed conditions apply to you, you will need written approval from a doctor, dated within the past 12 months.

Online registration in advance, where you’ll complete all legally required documents and let us know about your diving qualification/experience level. Here you’ll also upload a medical certificate from a doctor if required. See the Medical Screening Statement (LINK) – if any of the risk conditions apply to you, we’ll need a valid doctor’s approval that you are “fit to dive”, stamped and dated from within the past 12 months.

More than 14 days before your arrival date: full refund.

14 days or less before arrival: no refund. Your place is held and your instructor is booked.

If we cancel – weather, sea conditions or anything on our side – you choose: full refund or another date.

Your exact dive days are arranged with you during your stay. That is why we ask for your arrival and departure dates.
