Calypso Team

TOM
OWNER
Tom started his diving life off the island of Menorca at the age of seven. After a business life in Germany and thousands of dives worldwide later, he turned his passion into a profession. First as a diving instructor, later as a dive centre manager in various countries. But for all those years, Tom’s goal remained to have his own small, charming dive centre one day. Then he found it! By a lucky coincidence and a very friendly acquaintance with “Papa George”, the founder of Calypso, the dive centre was confidently handed over into Tom's hands on 1st January 2022. You'll rarely find Tom standing still - he's the ever-moving current of the dive centre, here there and everywhere, keeping things running smoothly! Languages: Kölsch, German, English

Over 40 Years of Diving in Gozo
Calypso Diving Centre is one of the pioneers of diving in Gozo. Our story began in 1985, when scuba diving on the island was still in its early days and only a few people had discovered the extraordinary underwater world surrounding Gozo.
From the beginning, Calypso was built on passion for the sea and a deep respect for the unique marine environment of the island. What started as a small local dive operation quickly became a place where divers from around the world came to experience Gozo’s spectacular underwater landscapes.
Over the years, thousands of divers have explored caves, arches, reefs and wrecks with us — many of them returning again and again.
While the equipment and facilities have evolved, our philosophy has remained the same.
We believe diving should feel personal, relaxed and authentic. Not rushed, not crowded, and never treated as a mass activity.
Today, nearly four decades later, Calypso Diving Centre continues to share the underwater beauty of Gozo with divers who value experience, safety and a truly individual approach.
