Scuba Diver

Minimum Age: 10 Years

Duration: 2 Days


This program is for students who do not have the time to complete the Open Water Diver program, and provides you with the training and experience required to dive in open water environments under the supervision of a dive professional.

After completion of the course you will be qualified to dive under the supervision of a dive professional and to a maximum depth of 12 metres.​

The SSI Scuba Diver certification can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver certification with additional training.

Open Water Diver

Minimum age: 10 years

Duration: 3 days


This globally-recognized certification program is the best way to begin your life-long adventure as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater.

Theory is studied with an online program in the language of your choice.

On site you will have 2 sessions of confined water training and 4 Open Water dives, as well as the written exam.

The Open Water Diver qualifies you to dive to 18 metres, if 12 years and older, or 12 metres for students under the age of 12. 

Advanced Adventurer

Minimum age: 10 years, 12 if deep dive is included

Duration: 2.5 days / 5 dives

This program allows you to experience five different open water dives from five SSI Specialty programs without requiring you to complete the entire Specialty. If you are unsure of your next step, this is the perfect way to advance your dive skills and experience, and to identify which Specialty programs interest you. You will earn the SSI Advanced Adventurer certification after completing this program.

Advanced Scuba training

Specialty Diver:

After completion of 2 Specialty programs and a total of 12 dives

Advanced Open Water Diver:

After completion of 4 Specialty programs and a total of 24 dives

Stress and Rescue Specialty

Minimum age: 12 years

Duration: 2 days


Stress is a major cause of diving accidents and negatively impacts rescue situations. This program teaches you the skills and knowledge required to recognize and deal with stress, prevent accidents and properly deal with emergency situations encountered by divers. You will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification after completing this program.

Certification Prerequisites: Open Water Diver.
Students must have proof of current training within two (2) years of First Aid and CPR

Specialty courses

Specialty programs are a great way to improve your current skills and learn new ones. When you complete a certain number of logged dives and Specialty programs you will earn and automatically receive the recognition for Specialty Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver – one of the most elite ratings in diving today.

You can choose from a range of Specialty courses with SSI and broaden your diving horizon in different fields. The specialty courses listed hereunder all include a minimum of 2 dives, with further dives at your instructor's discretion and with accordance to SSI standards. The Deep Diver Specialty makes an exception with a minimum of 3 dives.
